6/7 weeks pregnant and found a cyst - Pregnancy - MadeForMums Chat

Hi, I went to see my GP as i was having some mild craping, kind of like period pains. I was unsure of how many weeks pregnant i was so my GP sent me for an early scan. Today, my scan confirmed that i am 6 weeks and 3 days pregnant, we saw the baby's heart beating which we thought was a really positive sign. The scan also found some kind of cyst or possible partial molar pregnancy which means i could have a viable pregnancy and a molar which i have been told is exceptionally rare. I have read so many threads on here stating that cysts are normal - why has my scan expressed concern with the cyst that was detected? I have been re-booked for a scan on 16th Dec which will show us whether my baby is growing healthily. If anybody has had a similar experience i would love to hear from you. Thanks,V x Helpful 1 Report Reply davina dillard2 24/12/2013 at 05:55 PM

I had pain last week on right ovary. Went to my OB. He did ultrasound and said there is a corpus leteum on the right ovary. It says it is common. Now I am having pregnancy symptoms: very bloated, darker areolas and veins prominent little nausea tired. But this is the first time no sore breasts and I do have lower back pain and some leg pain. He gave me a pregnancy test last week and it was negative and now all these symptoms. No period yet. I have two children already but was born with a uncornauate uterus. Wondering if I could be pregnant without sore breasts that would be the first. Not sure what to feel at this moment. Please let me know how it went for you. I had an ectopic pregnancy last August and 3 days ago I had some bad cramps and I was little late with my period. When I started to throw up I went to see my doctor and the pregnancy test came positive, the same day I was spotting so she told me to go to the ER. They did an ultra sound and they found out that I have a 4cm cyst on my right ovary and they could not find the baby. But based on my hormones I am around 3 weeks pregnant and sometimes they can not see the baby, but I have been spotting for now 4 days and they told me that it's maybe another ectopic pregnancy. I don't want to loose again this baby. Please advice anyone who had experience the same thing. Helpful 1 Report Reply lauralynn 21/02/2016 at 01:48 PM

This is another great site for mums. Comments, questions and information graciously received. TN I experienced a very similar event December 2015. It is ongoing which is the reason behind my research out of curiosity more than anything and it provides a level of comfort. I have faith that God whom is the creator of everything doesn't make mistakes and He doesn't bless us with a child or children to then rob us of them. The medical establishment whilst trained in certain areas and "specialising" in certain fields can also make mistakes and equipment can be faulty or of inferior quality. I don't know how parents experience the absolute miracle that is life without faith. The fear that the medical establishment and burdens placed on parents these days is overwhelming and unbelievably disgusting (they may also have ulterior motives). The process of life hasn't changed for thousands of years. I pray for your faith and for you to have peace and God bless you and your baby. Helpful 0 Report Reply kate671 04/03/2016 at 19:26 PM

I know the original poster was a long time ago, but having recently experienced this for myself I wanted to share my story.

I originally had a dating scan at 9 weeks which found a luteal cyst on my left ovary which was 8cm. I was referred to the antenatal clinic and began seeing a consultant after each subsequent scan. At my 12 week scan they found the cyst had grown to 12cm. I was reassured at all my appointments that they are common in pregnancy (though not usually that large) and they would be reluctant to do anything at this point due to the risks involved and these cysts usually resolve and disappear by your 2nd trimester scan. At my 21 week scan it had grown further to 13.5cm and the decision was made by my consultant to operate as the risks of rupture and haemorrhage now outweighed risks to surgery. It was incredibly scary but the entire team from midwives to the doctors I saw were fantastic at answering questions and supporting me (especially when I had a panic attack in clinic after being told they would operate!). 3 days later at 22 weeks, I was admitted for a laparotomy and cystectomy. They made an incision much like a Caesarian and removed the cyst which had grown to 14cm .

I have to be honest and say it was the scariest and most painful experience of my life so far, and those first few days post op were horrible but my baby was fine, and they checked her heartbeat with the Doppler 3-4 times a day to monitor her and reassure me. I went home after 3 days and am now 27+3 weeks (just over 5 weeks post op) and nearly back to normal. It was a hard experience but ultimately the best decision for me and my baby's health, and I have been reassured i should be able to go on to have a normal delivery.

I am measuring small but have a growth scan in a few days to check baby and ensure she's healthy and hopefully wipe away any lingering doubt to negative effects of the op on her.

Kate671 - that's cool, you're a brave lady. It's always wise for all of us to always pray and have faith which is sometimes easier said than done. Once we hand over the situation to God we know that He is in control and we needn't have any worries :-) . God bless you xo. Helpful 0 Report Reply angie223 04/04/2016 at 16:33 PM

I was diagnosed with a large 4.5" ovarian cyst, but www.OvarianCyst.info changed my life. My doctor had insisted that I go through surgery, but after hearing all the horror stories about the risks of surgical procedures, I decided to visit that website. I have been on this system for six weeks and not only did the pain completely vanish, but I lost some decent weight! Many of the familiar ovarian cyst symptoms started to fade away and the ultrasound I took yesterday shows that my cyst has shrunk dramatically! it's simply remarkable!I was diagnosed with a large 4.5" ovarian cyst, but www.OvarianCyst.info changed my life. Praise God Angie223, that is so awesome. Very happy for you and God bless you. I believe when we have reservations, our "gut, intuition, spirit" is telling us what we're being told isn't right and there could be far reaching implications that we may not even know about/be aware of when we cut open our perfectly designed bodies/systems unnecessarily. :-) xo.
